RIVERSIDE COUNTY 16 HOUR CCW COURSE
Approved by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. This course exceeds the standards for the initial permit (16-hour) requirement by basing our curriculum in statistical data and empirical evidence based training to make you the best self defender you can be for your loved ones. This course allows students to explore drawing from a holster, critical thinking under stress, stop the bleed, non-lethal techniques, imaged based decision making and focus on the legal aspects of armed self-defense.
** THIS COURSE WILL ALSO GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR AN ARIZONA MULTI-STATE PERMIT**
Students will be sent an email on the Monday prior to the course with details for the week. Course schedule is as follows:
Training Day 1
Time: 9 am - 5 pm. Location: Classroom, Instruction topics
Fundamentals of defensive shooting
Safe gun handling
Stop the bleed (use of medical life saving equipment)
California gun laws for firearm owners
Environmental awareness
CCW gear and issues with it.
Training Day 2
Time 7:45 am - 12 pm. Location: Range, Instruction topics
Drawing from a holster
Proper reholstering techniques
Defensive shooting
Non-Lethal techniques (we will be using inert pepper spray on the range)
Critical thinking under stress / shoot, no shoot scenarios
Time 1 pm - 5 pm. Location: Classroom, Instruction topics
Legal aspects of self defense and use of force
Legal aftermath of self defense
Image based decision making
Mental health and the role of good judgement

Suitable STRONG SIDEholster that protects the trigger
Strong side = Appendix to 3 o’clock
Inside the waste band or outside the waste band
NO: off body holsters, sticky holsters, Index finger locking Serpa type holsters or ankle holsters
We have holsters for students to borrow if needed.
100 rounds for primary firearm (firearm you plan on carrying the most) and 50 rounds for each additional firearm
Semi-Automatic Pistol or Revolver registered to you for the class
Enough magazines to hold 18 rds of ammunition (semi-autos)
Ear and Eye protection (electronic muffs preferred)
Comfortable clothing similar to what students will wear while carrying.
Shoes/Boots – comfortable with sufficient support to permit a full range of motion. No sandals or flip-flops
*Deposits and courses are non-refundable. Students may apply the costs to a future date or another course.
Students who are no shows, students who do not properly fill out their student waiver or firearms information forms the week of class (email sent the Monday prior to class with access to forms) or last minute reschedules will loose half of their course deposit ($50).
