This course is a mandatory pre-requisite for the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home (PPITH) Instructor course. This course will help students to develop a home defense plan and explores the special considerations for utilizing a handgun for home defense.
Course Goal: To develop in students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a firearm for protection of self and family, and to provide the information on law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense.

Highlighter and pen
Semi-Automatic Pistol or Revolver for the classroom portion (no live ammunition permitted in the classroom)
Flashlight (LED/100 lumens minimum highly recommended)
Shoes/Boots – comfortable with sufficient support to permit a full range of motion. No sandals or flip-flops.
